RehabCare operates more than 40 hospital-based and satellite outpatient programs that provide aggressive, hands-on therapy to patients experiencing work- and sports-related injuries, back pain and dysfunction, joint replacement, multiple trauma, post-surgical conditions and other impairments. The programs complement the hospitals’ workers’ compensation and occupational medicine initiatives and provide treatment for patients from any setting.
We believe our management of outpatient therapy programs delivers increased productivity through our scheduling, protocol development and outcome systems, as well as through productivity training for existing staff. Productivity is enhanced through a streamlined appointment and registration process that minimizes “no shows" and cancellations. RehabCare s proprietary program management software provides comprehensive treatment planning, tracking and reporting that enhance productivity and program performance in an outpatient environment.
A typical outpatient unit is staffed by a Facility Director, a Community Relations Coordinator, four to six therapists and two to four administrative and clerical staff.
Patient visits are managed through a formal community relations plan aimed at members of the community and physicians. The Community Relations Coordinator establishes relationships with staff and area physicians and conducts an ongoing series of community education events. Specialized programs (e.g. sports medicine, women’s health) are developed based on market needs to take advantage of niche opportunities to increase referrals.
For a description of our specialized programs, see the Program Services section of this document.
An overall goal of our outpatient services is to become a seamless part of your operations. Our therapists and managers operate under your vision and goals, wear your badges and adhere to your policies and procedures.
