MeadowBrook Specialty Hospital of Lafayette is a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), dedicated to providing specialized acute care for medically complex patients. Our patients are chronically ill, suffering from multiple conditions ranging from cardiac, neurological, pulmonary (including ventilator dependency), brain injury and wound care conditions to arthritis, chronic pain, neuropathy and low-level rehabilitation. We offer specialized treatment programs and aggressive clinical and therapeutic intervention on a 24-hour/7-day-a-week basis.
MeadowBrook Specialty Hospital has two LTACH-licensed campuses in Lafayette. Our main campus is a 50-bed hospital providing 24-hour nursing care and respiratory therapy; a radiology department; pharmacy; an inpatient and outpatient therapy gymnasium, including aquatic therapy and a sleep study department. Our High Observation Unit features state-of-the-art ventilator and telemetry services and a nurses station with a 360 degree view of patient rooms.
Our second Lafayette campus is located within Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. We provide 24-hour specialized nursing care, including an intensive care step-down unit, to patients who are less stable and unable to move to our other post-acute care settings. This unique capability is an integral part in the continuum of care, because patients are able to progress from the most acute level of intensive care (step-down) to receiving post-acute care in an extended acute care environment within one facility.
