Homeward Bound Program

The Homeward Bound program is designed for patients to practice activities of daily living, mobility in a home, and cooking or housekeeping tasks as necessary. The therapy staff also addresses transferring in and out of a car, walking on uneven surfaces outside in the community, handling finances, and other tasks depending on the specific needs of the patient.  

Stroke / Neuro Programs

It is essential that a patient who has suffered a stroke or neurological injury/ impairment receive rehabilitation in a hospital that combines an excellent, specialized team with state of the art equipment.  It is through this combination of caring, advanced training and technology that a patient has the best chance to optimize their recovery and return to independence.  
 
Arlington Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to providing the staff, the skills and the technology that make a difference in the lives of our patients.  In pursuit of ongoing excellence in stroke / neurological rehabilitation the hospital was awarded a Three-Year Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for their Inpatient Rehabilitation Program – Stroke Specialty.

The goals of stroke rehabilitation are to:

  • Increase independence

  • Improve physical functioning and mobility

  • Restore language skills and treat swallowing disorders

  • Rebuild skills in daily living activities

  • Provide emotional support to stroke survivor and family

Arlington Rehabilitation Neuro Program meets the needs of patients with conditions such as:

  • Brain Injury         

  • Parkinson’s Disease

  • Neuropathy

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Spinal Cord Injury

  • Encephalopathy

  • Myopathy

  • Brain Injury

Other Programs Include:

  • Amputee

  • Hip Fracture / Orthopedic
